This is my illustrative work for the "March to Deliverance" fan zine. I focused on creating a triangular composition that enhanced character interaction, leading the viewer's eye around the piece.

This is a commissioned illustration of a client's original characters and their dog. I focused mainly on keeping the composition balanced. I also paid great attention to capturing the client's dog's likeness per their request.
Apparently she has been easily recognized by many visitors after my client got this illustration framed :)

I experimented with various different compositions before settling on one to use for the final digital painting. Often times, I'll take one element from a specific sketch and combine it with another to create the finished composition.
I often layout a very quick sketch to use as a guide before beginning a drawing, digital painting, or portrait just to get the general idea of where I want the piece to head.
